I have written a basic website using VS 2017 ASP.NET and have it running on my PC (locally under Windows 10 etc).
However, I now need to deploy the website to a Windows 2016 server ( running IIS ).
What is the simplest way? Do I need Azure or just a simple web deploy?
My server is hosted in house and as far as I am aware this will not involve Azure?
I have created a simple website on the 2016 server and can browse to the 'hello world' page.
This was created by editing a file on the server.
Is there a full simple guide as to how to deploy from PC to server?
Sorry - I am very new to this. Any guidance much appreciated.

What kind of application have you built? Are you using a database?

I have built a simple VS 2017 vb.net web app. I use a MySQL database hosted on another server. I connect using TCP/IP connection and run query against the
MySQL server database. This works fine. All I need to do is deploy my simple web app to the production server.

Did you go through the ASP.NET deployment link? Are you receiving any errors?
