We've just completed a major redesign of the ASP.NET website to give it a fresh look and bring all the information up to date. As part of the redesign, we've taken the opportunity to merge the previously
separate .NET and ASP.NET websites.
You can find the new site at
dot.net/web for short).
Answers to some common questions:
Why merge ASP.NET and .NET sites?
To reflect that ASP.NET is an integral part of the .NET platform. At a practical level, many of the common flows on our sites would bounce visitors back and forwards between the two sites. Having
a single, well integrated site provides a much better user experience.
Are any of my links broken?
No. All URLs from the old site will redirect to the most appropriate page on the new site.
What's happening with forums.asp.net and weblogs.asp.net?
Our current plan is to leave these as separate sites. In the future we may revisit this decision and merge them into an existing site.
What happened to Article of the Day?
Article of the Day has been retired. We reached out to contributors about a month prior to retiring this feature. Contributors have retained any Community Recognition points gained through article
submissions. All data associated with the Article of the Day feature will be permanently deleted from our systems by March 1st 2019.
