I have a solution that contains loasd of my asp.net project as a matter of fact I started building this solution with VS2013 before asp.net core came out. But since I have vs 2017. I copied the solution to the VS 2017 project folder. Right now I would to
start a new project which suppose to be a asp.net core web application. But I usually have difficulties adding .net core project to this solution. I have added one and I can not run the web application. each time I try IIS just tends to freeze. I ended up
with this message below

I recommend creating a new ASP.NET Core project and verify it works. At this point it is not clear what you're doing. I have no problem with solutions that have ASP.NET and ASP.NET Core apps.
The error indicates your system is not configured for ASP.NET Core though. Have you installed the latest SDK?
Perhaps take a look at the troubleshooting steps.

That's a timeout error.. so first thing I'd look is your startup code.. are you doing something that may be taking time in the startup routine? Check stdout logs too... check how the app behaves if you just start it directly (not proxy behind IIS)..

So what I did was to create a new asp.net core which I added to the solution. I have not added any line of code to it. I ran the code immediately I created and I got that error.
My system is configured to run asp.net core. Cos I have other solutions that can run asp.net core perfectly well. The problem is coming from this particular solution. So it not the thing of my machine.

Do you open the solution in vs 2017 from File->Open->Project/Solution? I mean you need to upgrade the project from vs2013 to vs2017 firstly:
