I used ASP.Net MVC 2/3 (c#) extensively in 2010/2011 - I haven't really done much web programming in years. I really miss it and want to start again.
I've found so many video tutorials for each Asp.Net Core and Web Application - I feel a bit more comfortable with the standard old school asp.net web app, but, core seems like it could be the future. However, I can't find any definitive article or documentation
that tells me which direction I should go down.
I want to invest a lot of time and effort in to this new project, alongside learning and want to make sure I get this right.
Can anyone point me in the right direction or just refer me to genuine good articles? I've been Googling for the past few hours and so far, it has been 50/50 for each technology!

Core is the way to go. In a couple more releases of Core, it will be used at the Windows desktop solutions. We're using Core 2.1 that I know about.
