I have a problem :
I can not get my ASP.NET CORE project running on an Azure VM (with a Windows Server 2016 DataCenter).
I followed this tutorial:
So I installed ASP.NET CORE 1.2.5 on the VM.
I copy my published files via Visual Studio 2017 into a folder.
Then I create the site in IIS by specifying in the pool application "No Managed Code".
I have error 500.19, yet I have no permission problem and my web.config file is correct (valid XML format).
Do you have any idea why I can not make my project work?
What did I forget to do or what did I do wrong?
Thank you in advance for your help.

The link is broken. You tried something like https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/aspnet/core/host-and-deploy/iis/?view=aspnetcore-2.1 aand in parrticular you
installed https://dotnet.microsoft.com/download/thank-you/dotnet-runtime-2.1.6-windows-hosting-bundle-installer or just ASP.NET Core ?
AFAIK 500.19 is when the config.file is correct from an XML point of view but still have issues (likely because the ASP.NET hosting module is not installed causing some sections to be unrecognized ?)
Make sure to install the ASP.NET Core hosting module.

I have installing dotnet-hosting-2.1.6-win and reboot the VM. Now i have a 404 error.
If I uninstall it, i have the 500.19 error like before.

404 means the resource is not found. UInstall it back and make 100% sure the resource you are trying to get does exists on your ASP.NET Core web site. If testing with an HTML page, keep in mind that the ASP.NET Core
pipeline is highly configurable and that you need to enable serving static files :
I would use that to first check that I can serve a static HTML file.

If i uninstall dotnet-hosting, my server return an error 500.19. so the ressource i trying to get exists.
But if I install dotnet-hosting, i have a 404 error.
What is the bug ?

What is the .net core verion for your project?
First, install dotnet-hosting-2.1.6-win.
For "404 error", what is your request url and what is your controller action code?
Can you access the Home page?
Is there any error while developing?

I find the problem, it was the default call not working, but if i call an other page, it was working.

If you need to make default call work, share us your configuration.
If not, I would suggest you mark your reply as answer to close this thread.
