I'm using visual web developer 2008 running on my windows 10. All the while it is working well. Today, after my windows 10 updated automatically, I noticed the above issue happened. When i press f5 to run/ compile, the "unable to connect to asp.net development
server" message pop out.
I have google the problem and tries the suggested solution. no luck~~ can anyone teach me how to resolve this?
a lot of thing stuck due to this~~~ appreciate in advance for kind assists.....

I assume the web server icon doesn't show up in the system tray? I believe you should be able to enable a "verbose" option to see what happens when Cassini is launched or maybe give it a try from the command line: https://xneuron.wordpress.com/2009/03/27/launch-cassini-using-command-line/ to
see if some useful error message show up.

Thanks for advice. Spend hours to try, finally found out that its the firewall problem. All the while i didnt change the firewall setting and no problem. Maybe its because the update.
after i add webdev.webserver.exe to be allowed through firewall, then it works again..... luckily it works....thank god
