I am not sure if this where this needs to go or not but here is the issue:
I have an app that works fine in IE but the one piece is failing. The user can upload a file and then review it later. It is uploaded to a network drive so the link looks like
Chrome acknowledges that there is a hyperlink and I can copy and paste into a new tab, but it does nothing if you click on the link.
Has anyone experienced that before and is there a workaround?

At best the Chrome config needs to be changed. Usually you are not allowed to use file: from an http: page (and IE settings were likely altered in your company to allow that).
Try perhaps http://chrome-allow-file-access-from-file.com/ (but from the name it seems it might just allow to use file: from a file: page ?)
