According to your description, I couldn't understand your issue clearly.
Do you mean the application work well on the local side not on the azure?
Could you please tell us which service you have used now? Web app? Cloud service?VM?
How you publish your web application to azure?
My views are successfully published but the functionality is not working, seems the database is offline. Please assist
Could you please tell use what kinds of database you have used now? On the local side or you used azure sql database?

If your database is also hosted in AZURE then you need to make sure that it is accessible to application by allowing specific IP in firewall otherwise you will not able to access it.
You can try to open your application on your development PC and point to connection of AZURE SQL , if it will not connect that means you have to add an exception/rule in firewall , add it and then try to run the project if it works fine on development machine
and you will be able to access database then it should work on production.
