I know that we can use polybase to connect to hadoop or azure storage to get the data and save it in SQL server.
Any idea, can we directly connect to an excel sheet (data source) and read from it to save the data in SQL server.

Yeah, import is built in. From SSMS, right click a DB, Tasks, Import Data. Follow the wizard.
The SQL docs explain all the different ways to import data.

Thanks for the reply; but these all are traditional ways of importing the data. None of these is using polybase.
Can we connect directly to excel using polybase.

Hi Harry US11,
I try to make some research and find that currently it is not possible to use Polybase to read data from Excel and insert in to SQL Server Database.
You can refer the Polybase Documentation to verify the same.
