I see that ASP.net core supports razor engine, is it possible to use it with the ASPX engine?
I have an mvc app with aspx, I'm looking to migrate to ASP.NET core, please advice.

Thanks Bruce for the response and clarification!
We have a app which has over 300 aspx and ascx filex, any recommendations for conversions to razor?

it depends. are the aspx files razor views or real webform pages?
if they are mvc views, I'd first convert to razor in the current project, then migrate the project.
if they are webform, then you have a lot more work. there is no webform support planned for asp.net core. you will need to convert to mvc action/view. i'd convert a couple in place to in the current project to get the concept going. this will require making
layout files that generate the same markup as the old master pages, etc. once you successfully converted some pages, you can either continue update in place than migrate, or just start migrating until done.
your ascx pages may map to partials views, but if they handle postback data, you will need to move the code behind to the action.
the more code behind logic, vs BI layer logic you have, the more difficult it will be.
