https://forums.asp.net/t/2134046.aspx?setting+soap+request+properties+from+T+sql there's quite some visual overhead due to copy pasted styles. With the new editor it's not possible anymore to scrub it oneself while pasting.
Would it be possible to scrub it off before saving to the database hence resulting in less data in the db and more uniformal and readable questions?

Thanks for the report! It looks like we can use the Paste plugin to achieve this (https://www.tinymce.com/docs/plugins/paste/).
Previously, did you have to choose "Paste as Text" explicitly to remove the formatting? Or did the regular paste strip it?

good to hear there's something out of the box with the editor itself.
I usually don't copy paste besides code and type in my answers/questions in myself so I don't have the problem myself. I do seem to remember that in the past there was a paste word icon in the toolbar that would do something like scrubbing off all that zealous
extra markup Word would produce.

Yes, we had a button for Paste from Word and a button toggle for Paste as Text. Unfortunately the Paste from Word is a paid plugin and their pricing model isn't great for websites, so we aren't going to get that one. But we can use the Paste as Text.
And similar to you, I don't use it because I use PureText (https://stevemiller.net/puretext/) whenever I paste something anywhere that might be formatted. That's the first thing I install on every new machine
of mine. :-)

We've now added the "Paste as Text" button toggle to the toolbar. This should help with removing styling when pasting, and also for moderators to clean up a post, but it does have to be deliberately chosen.
