Recently we have implemented https. now users are still using http though we have informed , so we decided to implement some thing
like url rewriting, so that user can use http://abc.com or
https://abc.com freely and finally it will be redirected to
so my question in how many ways this can be achieved?
and which is the good way of doing it, good in the sense it should keep https security (process) intact.

I see this being done most often with method 1. My personal preference is method 2 with a 302 redirect which is good enough to me. Then you can move forward for example to
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTP_Strict_Transport_Security (but make sure to fully understand it first).
