I have published my web site to the domain. Mine is a website (not project) web form
The aspx files are all in C:\MyApps folder
On its IIS I have created Virtual Directory and Name it \MyApps
So now I have to access it by this URL
How to modify so that I can access using
www.something.com instead ?

So you have an existing empty www.something.com web site and want to publish there ? See in IIS manager what is the folder for this web site and publish your stuff there.

I never said you should create a virtual directory with a blank name.
What is the current situation? My understanding is that you have an existing
www.something.com web site. So my suggestion is to check what is the root folder for this site and to publish your content there.
Or if you don''t have yet a web site, you have to create a web site rather than a virtual folder.

How to check the ROOT FOLDER for this site on IIS ?
I wish I can assign ROOT FOLDER to a folder on C: of this machine.
I am admin of this machine already.
Now, if I type www.something.com, I get this error
403 - Forbidden: Access is denied.
You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied.
If I type www.something.com/MyApps
it correctly loads my pages on C:\MyApps

Chose "Basic settings..." in the right Action pane on this site and it should show a physical path. I assume this directory is currently empty ?
You likely used something such as
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/iis/get-started/getting-started-with-iis/create-a-web-site but your intent was not to publish your content here ?
You have some scrreenshot from step 11 at
