how to solve it
when i click the submit button my controller action is not hit by debugger

Hi Junior Learner,
Error 500 means your application is throwing an exception. Have a look in the event viewer for exception details and/or add some exception management and logging to find out what the error is.
You could to see the actual error in chrome console by clicking on the POST request under Network tab, then viewing the preview tab. This displayed the actual error message.

Run your solution in debug mode, because the exception being thrown that is causing the 500 error code will be exposed along with the line of code that is throwing the exception.
