We have a requirement something like the user will be able to open a word/Excel document which is located in a remote server or in SharePoint folder location and the user can make changes and while saving the document should save to the source location.
May I know the best solution available in MVC to implement this feature. I could see something like WebDAV. I am not sure whether this will help to do from MVC application like I need to allow in some specific user (Authorization) and only specific step
in the application.
Please suggest if any other options available. Ideally, we need to have feature similar to SharePoint in our MVC application.
Any help will much appreciated.

Thanks for the quick response.
Looks like all the above links explains to read SharePoint document library.
Actually, We are looking for a functionality to open a particular document from source in respective tool. E.g: When the user click on a attached document link (or just link) like word doc link. It should open in word and user is able to make changes and
click on Save button in word doc should save back to the source location.
It shouldn't download and prompt for saving to local machine.
