A project kind o landed on my hands and I am having issues with one thing.
I have an already working project installed on a local server. I am able to make changes to existing pages, but I just tried creating a new page from copying an existing page and modifying it, but I keep getting an error when I try to open it. This is the
HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.
From my research so far, it looks like there has to be a controller in place to properly map the new pages, but I have not been able to find that within the project. I copied the project and opened it with ms visual on a different machine, same issue, everything
opens and works just fine except the new page that I added. While the project is open on ms visual I do not see a folder for controllers either.
I would greatly appreciated if someone can point me on the right direction

if you are using mvc the way to add a new page is as follow:
go to the controllers folder and open the HomeController, and add an action like:
public ActionResult NewAction()
ViewBag.Message = "NewAction";
then right click the name of the action (NewAction in this case) and select "Add View"
after that you can right click again and select "Go to View" to open the view
Put your html code in this new view.
you can access this new page by navigating to:

the information you had provided are little incomplete.
can you tell us the project type you are developing?
you said you copy and paste the existing page.
did you try to add a new page and then adding the contents in that page?
if you did not try that then you can have a try.
you will see the difference by creating the new page.
if you are working with VS 2017 and developing MVC project then I had seen some issues in which developers are not able to see the folders in the project.
so you can try to inform us if you are using VS 2017. so that we can try to provide you further suggestions.

Thank you, yes at first I did't have the source code, what I had was a compiled copy of a web app(I think) that was published on a local host machine. Now I was the source code, I am able to add the new view, everything seems correct, but now I am running
into other issues.
OK, I have the project running on a different machine with ms visual when I run it, I am able to see the website with the new views, but for some reason some of the videos on the pages wont load. That is one issue.
Also when I try to publish the site to my wwwroot folder for my local host. I am able to see the website but all the formatting is done.
I'll post some screen shots later today once I get to that machine.
And last but not least. once I am able to fix these issues, how do I transfer the publish site on my machine to the machine that is going to need it(copy and paste files?)..

Hi @Deepak Panchal,
Thank you for you reply, this project is a website that is installed on a locally on a machine, this is an already working project, it was sent to me to make a few minor changes.
At first I didn't realize what was sent to me was just the compiled version of the site. Now I have the whole project including the source code, and I am able to add a new view and I am able to see the controllers.
Now the thing is, some of the videos on the project are not loading, also when I try to publish the site to the wwwroot folder, everything seems OK but when I try to open the site on a browser, I am able to only see html links and all the formatting is gone.
I will post screen shots later today, maybe you guys can point me on the right direction.

with the web page opened in chrome press the F12 key and go to console and see the errors you get, most likely missing files the web page cannot get

you had mentioned that,"Now the thing is, some of the videos on the project are not loading, also when I try to publish the site to the wwwroot folder, everything seems OK but when I try to open the site on a browser, I am able to only see html links and
all the formatting is gone."
most possible reason that links are broken and not passed correctly so it is not able to locate the file so the videos and some css are not loading.
you can try to check and verify the path and make sure that it is correct.
