Hi i have the same code base under different subdomains.
I have a new requirement that the same user must register under each domain as they should appear as different applications.
is is possible to have different applicaitonname for each domain?
so for x.sub.com applicationName="xapp" , for y.sub.com applicationName="yapp" ...etc...
<add name="TMembershipProvider" type="System.Web.Security.SqlMembershipProvider" connectionStringName="PrimaryConnection" applicationName="/xapp" passwordFormat="Hashed" enablePasswordRetrieval="false" enablePasswordReset="true" requiresQuestionAndAnswer="false"
minRequiredPasswordLength="8" minRequiredNonalphanumericCharacters="0" passwordStrengthRegularExpression="" maxInvalidPasswordAttempts="5" passwordAttemptWindow="20" requiresUniqueEmail="true" />

Thanks for the link.
But sill I couldn't find solution for the question above on that page.
Application name is referring to all sub-domains. I need to distinct application name for each sub-domain.
To explain this little further. On IIS i have several domains that point to the same code (folder). I need to separately authenticate users on each sub-domain.

I think you could try to create different sites for each domain.
Or you could try to get each users domain before authenticate the user.
And then according to the domain to authenticate the user.

I'm ok with creating different sites but the will share the same code base including web.config
I want to separate different functionalities within our site to separate sub-domains.
Problem is that they all share web config so membership section/applicationName is the same.
Is there way to programmatically set applicationName based on domain? In that case user will be authenticated by sub-domain.

I don't think you could set multiple application names to one application.
In that case user will be authenticated by sub-domain.
Are these users authenticated by same method?
