I have a text box that is used to collect a Budget Value for an accounting form created in vb.net. The text box permits users to type in a value like 8,000,000.00 How do I remove the commas from the value before I insert it into the sql database? I
need to insert the value into the database as 8000000.00 instead of 8,000,000 (The sql database field is a decimal field)

Simply replace the comma with an empty string using the string.Replace() method.
Then cast or parse the result of the replace to a decimal.
