This error appear when I try to use MS SQL Server configuration manager (2008 enterprise version). As well as it appears in snap-in of Administrative Tools -- Computer Management. Indeed WMI snap-in above works, as well as WMI and WMI Extension Manager services.
I took sqlmgmproviderxpsp2up.mof from C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Shared (SQL Server 2005 express) and put for C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Shared
(MS SQL Server 2008 version), And tried mofcomp sqlmgmproviderxpsp2up.mof cmdline for it and it parsed succesfully. Indeed the MS SQL Server configuration manager does not
works and evokes the same error. Could I rewrite this *.mof file for 2008 version as it is internally simple text file? Whether I need another files (what files are responsible for confi manager) from 100\Shared folder?
Indeed MS SQL Server configuration manager is present in C:\Windows\System32.
What would you suggest? How repair the configuration manager?
I need it for switching on tcp/ip service -- could I do in with just cmdline?

To work around this problem, open a command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:
mofcomp "%programfiles(x86)%\Microsoft SQL Server\number\Shared\sqlmgmproviderxpsp2up.mof"
Note For this command to succeed, the Sqlmgmproviderxpsp2up.mof file must be present in the %programfiles(x86)%\Microsoft SQL Server\number\Shared folder.
The value of number depends on the version of SQL Server:nnn

I have seen that reference. I tried this feature -- mofcomp command-- but it parsed without results.
Would you provide the list of files that should be placed in 100\shared folder? What files are accountable for normal work of MS SQL Server configuration manager?
And yet again: I have written above that I placed mof file, but from 2005 ms sql server express version to folder where *.mof file from 2008 version should be placed.
Does it matter? So i need mof file from ms sql server enterprise first of all -- at least its text content.

Can I use SQL Server 2008 cd installer to repair just MS SQL Configuration Manager -- just with Setup -- Client Tools Connectivity -- Sql Server Configuration Manager? Should I repait just taht tiny component not whole SQl Server and it would be enough to
cure this issue?
