I have developed asp.net web application using VB and have a session variable for the current user in the home page. so that variable value could carry over any pages and should be able to select current user name from drop-down. when i am debugging seeing
variable is carrying over to other page and can select my username, that's fine. Problem is value not carrying over to another page and receiving error through IIS, when selecting my user name. FYI, this is local application and we are trying to have this
application on windows 8 (iis 8). In the web.config <authentication mode="Windows"/> and IIS also. but Only can access the application if Anonymous authentication is enabled, Windows authentication just prompt for credentials again and again. Any help will

Losing sessions are occurred by some reasons,
in webconfig change session mode from InProc to StateServer,for example
<sessionState mode="StateServer" cookieless="false" timeout="40" />
