I want to add signalR with a non owin application. Can we? If not what alternative may i use? My main goal is to process server side treatment and show the progress to the client.
Thanks in advance.

That is? Tell rather what you are uisng rather than what you don't use. I used IIS6 once and it was working fine. Using https://www.asp.net/signalr/overview/getting-started/tutorial-getting-started-with-signalr can't
work for your app and it doesn't find a package suitable for the version you are targeting ?
Edit: or try https://www.asp.net/signalr/overview/older-versions/tutorial-getting-started-with-signalr. We would need to better understand the exact constraints
you have and what doesn't work on your side when trying to use SignalR.
Or it is even older than what SignalR 1.0 supports? If really older it might be time to consider an upgrade.

the two tuto need to implement OWIN (use katana or somethinks like). My project don't implement owin. Otherwise i already use SignalR on many other project (With Nancy and asp.net) so i don't really need a beginner tutorial. just how to start signalR on
a project without OWIN.

a description of the iframe or polling approach (PHP but the principle applies as well to ASP.NET). I guess websocket would not work anyway with what you have?
You can't use OWIN because this is an old .NET Framework 2.0 or 3.5 application ?
