Im trying to hide a drop down list arrow. So far I learned it can only be done via CSS. So I'm trying to adjust the CSS programatically but not working so far and not sure if this CSS code is right.
ddlProfileType.ControlStyle.CssClass = "DropDownList-NoArrow";
I can still see the arrow when I view the page firefox.

According to your description, as far as I know, appearance attribute is useful in Chrome and Edge, but in Firefox, this attribute is useless. I make a sample to hide arrow in chrome, Edge, and Firefox. Please use the following
/* Firefox */
-webkit-appearance: button; /* Safari and Chrome */
<form id="form1" runat="server">
<asp:DropDownList ID="DropDownList1" runat="server">
