I have this situation where I should not be making much post back events shown on asp.net webpage..what do I do for example the dropdownlist is populated from database so when I choose one it posts back and there is a blink which can be seen...i dont want
that..the page should not show any postbacks

use a scriptmanager control and ajax updatepanel for partial page post back. Put the dropdown inside the updatepanel . Now for every selectedindexchanged event only the area inside the update panel will be posted back without the full page. Add the dropdownlist
id as the trigger for the updatepanel. It will remove the flickering.
You also need to set the clientid mode any control inside update panel as
auto or inherit. Check the below sample code
<asp:UpdatePanel runat="server" ID="updTerms">
<asp:DropDownList ID="ReceiverDropDown" runat="server">
<asp:AsyncPostBackTrigger ControlID="ReceiverDropDown" />

As Nilishere said, you could use Update panel control. Besides, you could also use JQuery Change function and JQuery Ajax to call the web method and update the page content.

Fire an event with jquery.. and bind everything on client side...
or else use update pannel for the complete page.
