I am fairly new to web application world. I am trying to setup an application which has 3 major components as follows:
1. Database which has user information and application related information
2. Web API service layer which has few layers of validation and business logic layer followed by database communication layer using entity framework.
3. ASP.NET MVC application communicating with Web API for user authentication and other application related data.
In this setup, I want to integrate Bearer authentication. However I am unable to find any suitable examples on internet where user identity is setup using web service call instead of local database. In most of the examples I can see, user identity is setup
either at ASP.Net layer using local database or at Web API layer using local database. However I don't want to use any additional database for authentication other then my own database, without by passing any layer from controller to database on my Web API
Can someone please help me understand if this is possible and if yes can provide me help how can I go about it.
