It is time to deploy my little draft asp.net web application which I have developed and got to work using VS 2015 on my home computer (Win 10). Deployment will be to shared hosting. The web application features membership, SQL Server database, secure communications
(https, using a self-signed certificate so far), code behind language C#. Trying to actually do the deployment is daunting, not having done this before. I have a lot of Windows forms application experience, but this is my first web application. When I try
to find "How to" instructions, they are geared towards VS 2010, for example https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd465343(v=vs.100).aspx . Trying to translate from VS 2010 to
2015 is frustrating; the deployment instructions seem to apply, but then they don't as the 2015 dialogs are much different (a lot simpler). From what I have read so far, I thought I would use "Web Deploy" which the host says they support (GoDaddy).
Could you please suggest how best to learn how to deploy my web application out of VS 2015 to shared hosting, including https?

Once you have signed up with hosting provider, you can download Web Deploy information via their control panel or you can ask their support team to setup WebDeploy for you. That's easy task!
