Hi! You could take a look at my very simple custom user manager:
It supports different login types (see CredentialType). So each user may have different credentials of different credential types, like email+password, facebook, google, microsoft account etc. Feel free to ask if you need more info. Also it supports roles
and permissions. This information is saved to the user claims and might be used with the standard ASP.NET Core mechanism.

You should use IdentityServer4 with Identity, this is the recommended solution at present. IdentityServer4 provides good documentation for this and sample applications.
