You can use Visual Studio profiling tools to analyze performance issues in your application. These tools are available in Visual Studio 2013 Professional, Premium, and Ultimate editions.
To create and run a performance session
1.Open the solution in Visual Studio. Set the configuration to Release. (Find the
Solution Configurations box on the toolbar, which is set to
Debug by default. Change it to Release.)
2.On the Analyze menu, click Performance and Diagnostics.
3.In the Performance and Diagnostics window, you should see that the
Analysis Target is set to the startup project of the solution you have open.
4.Check Performance Wizard and click Start at the bottom of the page.
5.In the Performance Wizard, accept the default setting of CPU Sampling (recommended) and click
6.Accept the default project, and then click Next.
7.Make sure that the Launch profiling after the wizard finishes check box is selected and then click Finish.
Your application starts, and the profiler starts collecting data.
8.Wait a minute or so to allow for some data to be collected. You can stop profiling at any time by clicking Pause profiling or Stop profiling in the center window.
9.Close the application as you usually would.
