We have a old web application that gets xml data via post requests, validates them and inserts them at a database. We are migrating to a newer application with a new database.
What I need to know is how can I keep at the old (webforms) application the validation and insertion of the data at the database as it is and also forward the request at the new application in order to validate and insert the data at the new database. For
the time being the answer of the old application is enough for the sender. So we do not need to return the post result of the new application.
Thanks in advance

if basically the business logic remains the same but you're just upgrading the technology then why don't you, for the time being, either copy over the data via an SSIS package or update the second database with an insert trigger originating from database_old?
Or if the database schema remains the same you could connect the old web application to the new database for the time being and then later on replace the old with the new application.
