We are using a CSS class to define colors for alternate rows on a GridView. We are having an issue with iPhones such that the background-color is not showing up but it works great on iPad, laptop and desktop. Do the CSS settings need to be different/modified
to work on iPhone same as others? Below is our css setting.

no, the iPhone CSS support is the same as the iPad. you css should work on an iPhone.
if you plug your iPhone into a mac, you can use safari's web inspector to debug the issue (turn on safari dev mode in settings), though the iPhone emulator may tell you. using chrome's web inspector you can do the same for android devices.

When I changed the background-color to lower-case (#d2ffd2) it worked as expected....strange.

Firstly, I’m glad to hear that you resolve the issue by yourself.
Besides, all major browsers support
Hexadecimal color values and we could use upper case or lower case letters to specify hexadecimal values.
