I am planning to create a asp.net application and database using Visual Studio project. Can I use this database at later stage in SQL Server in production environment.
can you clarify?

Use SELECT @@Version to see what you have on both sides. If the version level match you should be able to backup and restore the db in both direction. Usually on the VS side it uses SQL Local Db and perhaps a connection string that points to a file while on
a production environment you point to a SQL Server instance.
You can still give a try at running your app in production condition to avoid last minute surprises especially if you are new to all that.
