Do multiple browser tabs share the same session?
In other words, a session variable set in one tab will also apply in the other tab/s?
How can a new session be created for each tab?

Yes. it is a *browser* session and established between a browser and a web server regardless of the exact window. In some browsers you have a menu option to create a new browser session. Or just launching explicitely another browser instance should work.
Knowing what you need that could help (you could add maybe a prefix to your session variables so that they don't collide or just avoid this kind of design if you can ?)

Session state is scoped to the current browser session, so, using the same browser, you can share session.
