I've tried to implement this solution but I've faced connection issues as different users were trying to connect at the same time to different databases. How would you suggest to avoid this type of issue?

at that time I tried to implement DI with Ninject and chose the singleton pattern for the user profile object I instantiated on the very first request. That didn't work very well as users beloging to different tenants tried to access the web application
since the connection string saved in the user profile object was not the right one for each request. Maybe I got it wrong and should have tried to use transient scope to check the user profile on each request but it was years ago and I don't remember it quite
Hope this can give you some more details.
