I am new to .net so asking this question,
I was just wondering that will I be able to deploy my asp.net(with vb.net) application on the server in the form of scripts rather than a dll?
The requirement mentioned in the specification says that .exe and .dll files are not allowed, they have to be non executables like scripts....plz help me find right information

Visual Studio offers ASP.NET developers two different project types: Web Application Projects (WAP) and Web Site Projects (WSP). One of the key differences between these project types is that WAPs require explicit compilation whereas WSPs use automatic compilation,
by default. With WAPs, you compile the web application's code into a single assembly, which is created in the website's Bin folder. Deployment entails copying the markup content (the .aspx.ascx, and .master files) in the project, along with the assembly in
the Bin folder; the code-behind class files themselves do not need to be deployed. On the other hand, you deploy WSPs by copying both the markup pages and their corresponding code-behind classes to the production environment. The code-behind classes are compiled
on demand on the web server
Go ahead with WSPs there is no DLL generated on developer box. it merely uses aspnet_compiler to validate that your source code will actually compile and run on the server.

Hello...thanks for the reply...
This is going to be a project for some other company and need to deploy it in thr server, they have some security measures that doesnot allow executables and dlls, mainly which they cannot read.
but they do allow scripts throught thr security measures...so will it be a WAP or WSP?

Not sure if you could use PowerShell scripts. Take a look at the following articles. It describes how to run a Windows PowerShell script as part of a build and deployment process.
