I really wanted to share with you the following; I'm a huge fan of asp.net core and of Docker. From the moment I received my new Raspberry Pi 3 I've been working on getting asp.net core to run within a Docker container on my Pi. And I'm happy to announce
I've succeeded :D.
For anyone that is interested I've published my docker file on Github https://github.com/rootdevelop/rpi-aspnetcore and added it to Dockerhub (https://hub.docker.com/r/rootdevelop/rpi-aspnetcore/)
To run a asp.net website within Docker on a Pi is now pretty straight forward.
After you've installed Docker on your pi (or downloaded de hypriot image), clone your project to the pi and change to "FROM microsoft/aspnet:1.0.0-rc1-update1" to "FROM rootdevelop/rpi-aspnetcore:latest" and build your Docker file ("docker build -t yourtaghere
Building your docker file does take a while on a Pi (5 to 10min) but when your site is up & running it's pretty fast.
