I would like to know if there is anyway to clear the TempDB in my SQL Server 2008.
I have tried with several options whichever resulted in my Google search, but nothing seem to be worked.
Actually i am running a query which would take probably more than 3 hours to complete an operation ( I am doing the import process for than 2 lakh data). Due to this my TempDB increases more than DB size and it causes serve issue in my application.
Kindly anyone show me right path...

If you worry about the size of your tempdb, you may need to review the setup of your tempdb in your instance. If your initial size is too small, you will run into issues with the auto grow part. When you restart your SQL Server service, it will go back
to the initial state.
