Is there anyway in SSRS to invoke a report programatically from a local copy? Ideally I would like to bundle a report definition with a program and just have the report definition read in, a data source instantiated and passed to the report object, any
parameters etc. and then an output saved to PDF. I have found a few references on how to do it from a report bundled on a server, but confused why there doesn't seem to be any way to do this in a stand-alone C# application.

Programatically Invoke Report Without ReportServer?
Perhaps what you are talking about is local mode in report viewer. Here is an example.
http://www.aspsnippets.com/Articles/ASPNet-Report-Viewer-control-Tutorial-with-example.aspx (web site)
ttp://blogs.msdn.com/b/thirusrinivasan/archive/2008/09/15/local-mode-reports-in-desktop-applications.aspx (desktop application)
Here you don't need to publish the report to the server and works in a stand alone application.
Hope this helps.
