Thank you for the post.
In Asp.Net Design patterns are very important for building scalable and reliable applications. Heaps of tutorials you can follow to learn nuts and shells of Design patterns
For greater details for well-know patterns used in Asp.Net you can learn at:
Also other resources you can follow:
Hope this will help.

Design patterns are solutions to software design problems you find again and again in real-world application development. Patterns are about reusable designs and interactions of objects.

Hi Anil, while designing software solutions, we come across common questions in almost any project. For example, I want only one instance of a object to exist (singleton pattern), or I need to provide a efficient interface to my client and hide all my internal
methods (facade pattern) or I need to provide a class that will take care of creating objects (factory pattern) etc etc.
Since these questions pop up in almost any project, people have documented good solutions for each problem which can be used in almost in any project. This is what is called a design pattern!
Hope it helps!

Make sure you also understand how design patterns are used in the real world and what works and doesn't in practice.
Take a look at the blog series "Design patterns in the test of time" by Ayende Rahien (Oren Eini).
