Hi. Newbie here (to VS2013/VB).
I created a small Web application that works fine when compiled+published.
But when I run in Visual Studio to debug, I get "Type 'DBUtil' is not defined". DBUtil is DBUtil.vb in the project/solution that holds "Public Class DBUtil". I basically put all database routines (opendatabase, exec, etc.) in it for common use among the
different web pages.
What am I doing wrong? Thanks a lot.

I created an App_Code folder in my "WebSites" folder and this allowed me to run within Visual Studio.
But once compiled and published, I get "The directory '/MyAppDir/App_Code/' is not allowed because the application is precompiled.'
Deleting the App_Code folder on the IIS Server (not my Websites folder) allowed the application to run.
I will try to pick up a good Visual Studio 2013 book to understand. Would appreciate in the meantime of a good online reference.
Thanks a lot.

Everything's working now. I deleted everything in the "MyAppDir" folder on the IIS Server. I recompiled and published and it's all working now -- both on the server and within Visual Studio's environment.
