I am having a very annoying issue with a older application.
I have a web form app that is .Net 4.0 and using entity 4. Problem is I can't update/add/anything to my models anymore without VS2013 annoyingly upgrading the entity version 5 which 100% breaks everything in the application.
I can't figure out how to get VS to stop doing that and continue to let me use the older entity version. The only way i have found to actually to the updates i need to was t ocreate a random project in VS2010, create the EDMX files there in 4, and copy/paste
them into the project....that is really annoying.

From your description, if you want to existing project to entity framework 5.0, I suggest you could refer to the following steps:
First, target .NET Framework 4.5.
Second, remove the existing Entity Framework 4.1/4.3 reference and install Entity Framework 5.0
If you open your existing data model (.edmx) file then it may give error, as it is still using EDMX version 2.0 (open edmx as XML). Click on the 'Modify' link on the designer and it will be modified to version 3.0.
