Hi, I am migrating asp application from Windows server 2003 to IIS6.1 in Window server 2008.
But fail to do so and hitting issue HTTP 500 error and the error message is as per below.
Most likely causes:
•The website is under maintenance.
•The website has a programming error.
I have try to set the application pool to enable 32 bit application to true but still hits the same error.
I try to run the command cscript.exe adsutil.vbs set W3SVC/AppPools/Enable32BitAppOnWin64 “true” but hits error "Permission Denied; Error Number:70(0x46); Error trying to get the object:W3SVC/AppsPool"
I am very sure that it is not due to programming error because it can run well in Windows server 2003.
Can anyone advise?

Check your connection strings and permissions. If you need special write permissions then you should give them to the application pool user, not ASP user.

You should check the event log and see what exactly happen. Mostly 500 error for asp is about file permission. Try give iusr_ read/execute permissions on this site.
