Hello, we have several web App that runs under framework 1.1, those applicatios work well. We wonder if it is necessary to upgrade them to work under the most recent framework?

It's a matter of preference.
If they are currently working, then by all means, there's not reason to update them unless you absolutely want to. Newer versions of the framework obviously offer quite a bit of improvements upon an older version like 1.1 in just about every area (e.g. performance,
security, efficiency, etc.), but it isn't something that you absolutely have to do.
If you are planning on refactoring or revisiting an older project, I would highly recommend doing so. It would allow you to take advantage of many of the new features that have been implemented since 1.1 and since .NET has been fairly reasonable with regards
to backwards-compatibility, you shouldn't have to make any dramatic changes to your existing application for it to work.
