I think is better because Cloudera is more widely recognized in the market. As it goes, most of the recruiters don't care about certification. But it helps in getting shortlisted for potential interviews. Cloudera University is gaining traction among big-data
enthusiast. So compared to Hortonworks, if you have it from Cloudera, your chances of being in the list of potential interview would be higher... IMHO, you should go for Cloudera certification.

Mar 30, 2015 03:25 AM|Dixsita|LINK
Hello,
I am .Net Developer, looking to learn Hadoop-Bigdata.
Basically I found Hadoop is based on Java.
There are main two source I found to learn it, Cloudera and HortonWorks?
HortonWorks support .Net and Windows..
So , I am having doubt should I continue through HortonWorks or cloudera?
What would be more useful for me, as career aspect?
Both Basic need to learn, (Apache)Hadoop framework, Hive , pig etc.
