I have been developing with ASP.Net for quite a long time but it is embarrassing I do not get the idea behind test whether unit or not.
What is test for? I thought if I had postman fiddler checking my API endpoint was enough test for my application.

If your question is about why do we need unit (or other) "test" scripts:-
The concept of testing is required for the quality of the code deliverables. For example, you have written some code and you would want to ensure that the code written is working fine or not. To validate it, you would perform few steps, probably fiddler
in your case, a browser for other developer who develops website, or a client application for a web service or WCF developer. This process of performing some steps (or actions) to validate that certain piece of software application for it's correctness (or
performance and various other parameters) is nothing but testing.
After a period of time, developers found writing automation testing scripts would save some amount of time, where we may have repeated test scenarios that needs to be executed.
Hope this helps. If you have any specific questions, please feel free to post.
