I have created a web site in Visual Studio 2012 using SQL SERVER EXPRESS 2008. The database is currently stored in c:\Program files\Microsoft sql server\MSSQL10.SQLEXPRESS\MSSQL\DATA\DATAFILE.MDF . The current instance is acer-PC\SQLEXPRESS. How do
I deploy my website along with the data on the production server which has sql server 2008 express and .NET FRAMEWORK 4.5 installed ? I have access to the control panel on the production server.

You could make the following:
1. Create a new database on the production server with your name and users.
2. Create a local backup with SQL management studio.
3. Restore the backup on the production server.
4. Change if needed the connection string before deploying on the production server.

Thanks for the reply. Will the database created on the production server have the same instance name as on my machine after I do backup and restore ? Do I have to create a database ( as per step 1) using SSMS on the server ? Please give details as I
am doing this for the first time.
