given that occasionally post's are deleted by the hard working, diligent forums.asp.net moderators,
and given that the deletion process is likely semi- to fully- automated, why not send the notification to the member's http://forums.asp.net/user/privatemessages inbox?
(a) the fact that her/his "post deleted" notification will show up as a new message in her/his forums.asp.net inbox means that the message will stand out;
(b) there is near-zero risk of the message getting lost in cyberspace.

Suwandi's (oned_gk) suggestion extends mine ... i like his suggestion about replacing "Sorry. This forum thread or post has been deleted and is no longer accessible." with something
more meaningful.
i am glad that Terri has added it to her list for further consideration.
thnx

We are not going to do that. The existing message will remain as it conveys what is necessary to the general public.

http://forums.asp.net/post/5792136.aspx is just one example of where posts have disappeared between forums.asp.net and the end user's MX host.
