I am trying to install and run Proficy Webspace 4.71 on my Web Server with iFIX 5.8. iFIX 5.8 runs correctly as far as I can tell. I am not able to run a Webspace client though, both through a web browser and using a desktop version.
I wanted to clarify the issue regarding the .NET Framework. I need 4.5.1 installed, and so I installed it and verified that it was registered to the IIS prior to installing Webspace. However, when I go to the Server Features, .NET Framework 3.5.1 is
still listed (although it is not listed in installed programs). Is this because .NET Framework 3.5 was installed with the OS and so it is the only one that can be activated in Server Features?
How can I install HTTP activation for .NET Framework 4.5.1 and is it even necessary to or is registration on the IIS enough?

Welcome to asp.net forum.
First the .NET Framework 4.5.1 is being offered via Windows Update and WSUS to computers running the following operating systems:
Windows Vista SP2, Windows 7 SP1, Windows Server 2008 SP2, Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, Windows Server 2012
Secondly we can get .NET Framework 4.5.1 from automatic update and
Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) and Catalog, see:
The .NET Framework 4.5.1 is available on Windows Update and WSUS
For your issue, it's recommended to restart your IIS, and check whether it can fix it.
At the same time you can also execute the following in the
Visual Studio Tools command prompt to register the .net 4.5.1:
