My question is "How to migrate a Webserver or Website from a computer that is running IIS version 6.0 on Microsoft Windows Server 2003 to a computer that is running IIS 7.0 on Windows server 2008 ?
I am newbie to ASP.net. I appreciate if someone can share their knowledge/Experience in dealing such situations.

One more small question on the same topic, I read some where in the below link, we use "Webdeploy" tool to migrate from server to another.
So, if we can do it manually, what is the purpose of this tool ? Sorry, if I am too ignorant.Trying to analyse different sources.

I haven't used WebDeploy. The last time I transferred sites from one server to another, I used
BitTorrentSync to copy the files across - including the backup of the database.
