It seems like there is an issue with the search functionality on the the site this morning (particularly the search within the Forums). I've either received no content at all within the results area or an error message ("An error occurred with your
search").
I took a look at the Network traffic and noticed the following response :
{"OpResult":{"Success":false,"Message":"An error occurred with your search"}}
I just wanted to make sure that someone was aware of the issue and to see if only I was experiencing it, or if it was affecting others as well.
I'm going to definitely say that these two events are related. I know that the Azure outage knocked out these forums last night, so I am sure there are all kinds of "fires" going on behind the scenes, one is which is probably the search blowing up.
We had to kick off a reindex to fix the search. The reindexing starts with the newest threads and works backwards, and will take a day or 2 to complete.
You should now find that results are being returned.

Yes, the Azure outage last night adversely affected the availability of our ASP.NET website for many hours overnight.
Thanks, Rion. We'll work to get this up and running again ASAP.

Super Terri!
I use the search all the time so it didn't take long for me to realize things weren't working as expected :)
