I googled "overloading web api controller methods" and found this;
You'll probably find others if you google yourself, but in general "overloading" is a language-specific concept, web services tend to not support it.

It's likely too general to show something that would fit for sure your scenario. For example it could be used to handle optional parameters or because you want to be able to pass different id types or whatever etc...
If you tried something, what have you tried and the error you have? If not, what kind of urls would you like to be usable (as it all start with matching a method according to an incoming url).

Only way I can think to do this is have more than one version of the web API in area folders v1 would take different parameters than v2. both versions would call the same function in a class that takes your overloads
