I got a new PC last year and a full version of VS 2012. I've never got the login controls to work. I need to get a development done that needs registration/login....
Is there anybody in the Midlands (UK) who would help me get my installation/VS working?
I create a new website and just put a login control. When I run it the system should automatically create the aspnetdb.mdf file. However, I get the following error (note if I create a project with all of the precreated pages it still doesn't work). I'd really
appreciate some help and guidance. I've also tried to run the configuration/administration tool and get error messages in that.
When I run the login page and type a dummy username+password I get:
An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

For this situation, if you are not using SQL Sever in your side, you should make sure you have install the Microsoft SQL Server Express edition. For downloading SQL Sever Express:
Besides, when you use Visual Studio 2012, in the web application templates, you could select the build in template for web application(not the empty one), then you could try to use the build in register page to register a user, finally it would generate
a .mdf file in the app_data folder automatically.
If you've already created a .mdf file in the app_data folder, then you could use the following way to Install ASP.NET Membership services database in SQL Server:
If you are using SQL Server, about this error, you could refer to the following information:
